Water Activities at New Burnswick

Being as New Brunswick is a coastal province there is an abundance of exciting water activities to take part in. From kayaking and canoeing to jet boat rides up the reversing rapids you’ll find something right up your alley.

Perhaps you want to find that perfect swimming beach in New Brunswick or head out on a fishing boat to try and hook that notorious Atlantic Salmon.

New Brunswick has some of the warmest waters north of Virginia and because of this we can spend much of the year alongside our marine friends. From extreme to relaxing there is a water sport or activity that will suit your needs and schedule.

With over 30 swimming beaches, including 19 freshwater beaches you’ll be able to pick out that perfect patch of sand and with over 60,000 km (37,282 mi.) of rivers, lakes and streams there is no end to the fun in the water. Get out, grab a paddle or a fishing rod and dive in!

Boat Tours

Miramichi River Boat Tours-Float down the Miramichi River on a romantic sunset cruise after a scrumptious dinner of your choice and listen to the experienced guide tell you about the history and marine culture of the area.

Shediac Bay Cruises-Hire a private charter, take a tour of the bay or catch your dinner on the Lobster Tales dinner cruise.

Open Sky Adventures-Take a relaxing boat tour up the St. John River to see the Grand Falls Gorge and from there rent a kayak or canoe or even depell (rapelling face forward!) down the steep walls of the gorge.

Zelda’s River Adventures Ltd.-Board this comfortable pontoon boat and cast a line out for a Smallmouth bass, Striped bass, trout, perch, sturgeon or pickerel on the Kennebecasis River.

 

Windsurfing and Kitesurfing

Club Wind & Kite-the leading kiteboarding school in Canada, will take you out for the trip of your lifetime. From Lameque Island (near Shippagan) you will learn the strategies of kiteboarding and have a blast testing your abilities on the water.


Canoeing, Kayaking and Tubing

Fresh Air Adventure Ltd.-Paddle out for a half day or full day package, exploring the Alma waterfront and the coastline of the Fundy National Park of Canada. These guided tours will teach you the ropes of kayaking and provide much needed refreshment.

Kenzie Tubing-Rent an inner tube or try Geo-tubing down the Little Southwest Miramichi River. Bring a picnic and kick back and have fun.

Bay Mountain Adventures Inc.-Explore the famous natural “flower pot” formations on the Bay of Fundy by sea kayak or even try spelunking in the “White Caves”, near Hillsborough.

Arpin Canoe-Head out with experienced guides on the Restigouche or Kedgwick rivers by canoe. Learn how to manoeuvre through rapids and paddle like a pro!

Seascape Kayak Tours Inc.-Experience Deer Island as you kayak out from the protected harbour. Have the chance to spot bald eagles, Harbour Seals and Harbour Porpoises, or head out from St. Andrews to explore the red sandstone shores of Ministers and Navy islands. Fresh Air Adventure-Try the half or full day tours to explore the Bay of Fundy or if you really want to get a kayaking experience of a lifetime join one of the multi day tours along the Fundy Trail. All equipment is provided and by the end of it you’ll be kayaking like a professional.

Le Canotier-Hit the water in a kayak or canoe along the Rivière-Verte River and experience the Madawaska back country.
