Beaches at New Brunswick
New Brunswick is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Canada. There are over 30 swimming beaches here and the seas are some of the warmest north of Virginia.
Whether you want to don a swimsuit and take a dip, relax Oceanside with a novel, search for the perfect photo opportunity or explore the tidal pools and local activities there is a beach for everyone here.
Parlee Beach Provincial Park hosts New Brunswick’s most popular beach, and also thought to be one of the best in all of Canada. This is a supervised beach perfect for the whole family with sandy beaches, swimmable waters, and sports activities. The nearby campground has showers and washrooms, a playground, picnic area and restaurant.

Not far from this spectacular beach is the World’s Largest Lobster sculpture, excellent accommodations and fabulous restaurants.
Perhaps the locals’ favourite beach is Murray Beach with its spectacular seaside views. The beach is located in Murray Beach Provincial Park and the area is dotted with lighthouses, covered bridges and features a soft sandy beach.
Feeling adventurous? Take the ferry from Blacks Harbour to Grand Manan Island to visit Anchorage Beach. Go paddling for the afternoon, dig your feet in the sand and take in the view of the beautiful Bay of Fundy.
There are also 19 freshwater beaches in New Brunswick. Take the family or a group of friends on a river tube ride, rent a kayak or canoe and go for a flatwater paddle, or set up a tent in one of the many campgrounds. There are never a shortage of cottages and hotels nearby to rest up and get ready for the next day's beach excursion.
Kiwanis Oak Point Campground and Park beach features the tallest lighthouse on the St. John River and features washrooms, showers and a picnic shelter.
For something extraordinary tour up through the Acadian Coastal route to visit New Brunswick’s Discovery beaches. These non-swimming beaches are constantly being renewed by the changing tides and are home to many different wild species. Cape Enrage is noted in Frommer’s Guide as the “Best View in Canada”, running more than 7 km (4 mi.) long and features coastal cliffs and excellent beachcombing. Catch a glimpse of a sea porpoise or a seal and visit the bird observatory.
Sink your feet in the sand and catch some much needed rays of sunshine. Catch a coastal sunset or take part in the many activities that the beaches of New Brunswick offer. There is something for the whole family to be found here.
Please remember that no alcohol is permitted at any of New Brunswick’s beaches and that while all are family friendly not every beach is supervised. New Brunswick’s beaches are known for their pristine beauty and please help keep them this way by not littering. The beach is this way!
